Many tourists traveling to Uzbekistan choose the most popular routes to the sights of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. But if it's not your first time in the country or you have some free time — boldly head to the mountains. Here you can have a great time, look at the beauty of Uzbekistan's nature and take many bright photos.

Last weekend I went to the territory of the Zaamin tourist and recreational zone. It is located in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, near the urban settlement of the same name. Travelers come here to spend time in nature, admire the beautiful landscapes and get to a suspension bridge that stretches right over a picturesque gorge.
Zaamin: what to see
The main attraction of Zaamin is its vibrant nature with delightful views. You can come here for one day or stay for a few nights. There are many hotels of different price categories on the territory of the recreation area. I noticed that many of them are not on aggregator sites. Guests probably book these accommodations on the spot. Another observation of mine: the further a hotel is from the main tourist sites, the lower its cost. If you are driving here, you can safely choose a hotel further away to save a decent amount.

Zaamin has a wellness center and a cable car. But I would call the 300-meter suspension bridge the main attraction of the tourist and recreational zone. It is located at an altitude of 150 meters. Entrance to it is paid — 60,000 Uzbek soums. Tourists can walk back and forth along the bridge or, for example, look at it from the outside: right next to it there is a zipline track.
The website of the Tourism Committee says that in the future new hotels, ski runs, swimming pools, golf courses, and another cable car at an altitude of 3,100 meters will appear here.

It is impossible to imagine Uzbekistan without delicious food. On the territory of the recreation zone and on the way to it, travelers come across a huge number of places to grab a bite to eat — from small stalls with samsa to large establishments with tapchans. As I have already mentioned, Zaamin is located in the Jizzakh region. On the Internet, it is noted that Jizzakh samsa is considered one of the country's gastronomic masterpieces. Truth be told, I never had time to try it.
How to get there
The easiest way to get to Zaamin from Tashkent is by car. It is convenient to build a route on "Yandex Maps", where many attractions of the recreation area are also marked. By the way, entry to the territory of the tourist and recreational zone is paid. In the summer of 2026, it cost 20,600 soums.

You can also fly to the settlement of Zaamin itself by plane; flights are operated by Silkavia airlines.
