On the day of my trip to the Flower Festival in Namangan, Uzbekistan, I managed to visit another interesting place—the Afsonalar vodiysi amusement park. Its name translates to "Valley of Legends."
The "Valley of Legends" is located about five kilometers from the center of Namangan. I walked here from Babur Park, which took me about an hour. You can also take a taxi, as taxi services in Uzbekistan are quite affordable. The route can be conveniently planned online.
To visit the attractions, you need to purchase a special plastic card, which is sold at any of the ticket booths. Its cost is 5,000 soms. The card purchase took some time: the cashier spoke only in Uzbek, and only with the help of nearby visitors was I able to understand that paying 5,000 soms was not enough; I also needed to load the card with any additional amount. After that, you can top up the card at the ticket booth or through the Click Up app using a bank card.
The cost of visiting the attractions varies from 10,000 to 35,000 soms. The most expensive ride was the Ferris wheel, which, by the way, is the largest in the country. The height of the structure is 92 meters.
In the past, the "Valley of Legends" area hosted another park called "Mashrab." A government decree to create the modern entertainment zone was passed in 2017. The name for the park was suggested by the country's president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The "Valley of Legends" is divided into thematic zones. In addition to the attractions themselves, there is a virtual reality zone, shops, cafes, a restaurant, and even a mosque with a capacity for 15,000 people. In the central part of the park, there is an amphitheater with 2,400 seats. In the evening, a musical fountain operates here.
The park's attractions will appeal to both children and adults. There are harmless carousels as well as extreme roller coasters. I should mention that I didn’t have to stand in lines, even though the park was quite crowded. My personal favorite among the park's attractions is the water slides. They give you waterproof capes, and then people sit in boats that race down from two heights at a thrilling speed.
A considerable part of the "Valley of Legends" is occupied by a water park. I didn't manage to visit it, but I’ll definitely try to come back here to see it. This small aquatic world has 16 pools and seven attractions.
The "Valley of Legends" area looks very well-maintained. Currently, the overall view is somewhat spoiled by the construction surrounding the park, but in a few years, when this work is finished, it should become very cozy. This recreational zone can accommodate up to 15,000 people at a time.
Have a nice trip!
