During my recent trip from Saint Petersburg to Moscow, I not only walked through the beautiful capital estates but also visited one very interesting place - the headquarters of Yandex. In today's material, you won't find luxurious imperial interiors or stories about historical figures, but I'm sure you'll be interested to learn about the life of the Russian internet giant.

The name of the future search giant appeared back in 1993. The word Yandex is formed from the English "yet another indexer". Four years later, the announcement of the Yandex search engine took place. Nowadays, the company is associated not only with the search engine; the services developed here have firmly entered the life of the modern Russian. Today, Yandex employs over 18,000 people.

For those who find themselves in the Yandex headquarters for the first time, the internal office space is likely to seem quite unusual: there are no usual offices, but there is a library, several open rooftops, a kitchen, and even a sleeping capsule.

Navigation in the huge office building is organized very interestingly: the names of meeting rooms are tied to the floor and include its number. For example, there are "7. Water on Jelly", "5. Wheel", "5. Argentina - Jamaica". Accordingly, the rooms are located on the 7th and 5th floors of the building. In another part of the complex, floors are distinguished by the color of the walls.

In 2018, Yandex acquired a plot on Kosygin Street for the construction of a new office covering an area of 170,000 square meters. In addition to creating office spaces, the project provides for the placement of cafes, gyms, pharmacies, and beauty salons for the townspeople on the complex's territory, as well as a swimming pool.
